Priya Bhavani Shankar to pair up with Atharvaa

The team of Kuruthi Aattam will finally be rolling from next week as director Sri Ganesh has found his lead actress — Priya Bhavani Shankar. For this film that has Atharvaa in the lead, Ganesh wanted an actress who has a Tamil face, and could perform the role with ease.

“Her role is that of a teacher in Madurai. So, obviously I wanted a Tamil face that people can relate to. In fact, when I wrote the character, she was the first person to come to my mind. I had seen her Meyaadha Maan and her television soap had a big reach in Tamil Nadu.

I met her for the narration and she really liked the script. But she felt that her character wasn’t prominent enough. I re-worked her role and met her with the second draft, which she okayed. Eventually, she came on board,” says Ganesh.

The team will begin shooting from next week. “Atharvaa is on a break. Once he’s back, we will begin shooting for the film,”adds Ganesh.
